Matkahuolto receives a Bronze Metal in its first EcoVadis assessment

We have received a Bronze Medal in our first EcoVadis assessment. EcoVadis evaluated our sustainability efforts as good in the areas of labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. In the environment category, we even reached an advanced level.

We were recognized for our comprehensive greenhouse gas management system, which has been verified by a third party and is in line with international standards. However, there is room for improvement, particularly in sustainable procurement.

Thirty-five percent of the assessed companies achieve a Bronze Medal.

Assessment criteria and our future goals

EcoVadis is the world's leading sustainability rating provider for businesses, having assessed the sustainability efforts of over 130,000 companies globally. EcoVadis evaluates companies across four sustainability themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment criteria are based on international sustainability standards and principles, such as the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and ISO 26000.

This assessment allows us to better understand both the strengths of our sustainability work and areas for future improvement, as well as to compare our progress with other companies in the same industry. Sustainable procurement is included in our new sustainability program, which we will announce more about in the fall.

Our goal is to achieve a Gold Medal by the end of our strategic period, which extends to 2027. You can find more information about our sustainability commitments on our website.
