Using the Paketit app is easy and useful

The Matkahuolto Paketit app is easy to use and quick to download to your phone from your app store. With the app, you can track your parcel's journey and manage it effortlessly.

Track the progress of your parcel

By turning on notifications in the settings, you will get detailed status updates on the progress of your consignment via push notifications. Push notifications are messages sent by the app, which often appear on your device screen in the same way as text messages.

Pay for your parcel with ApplePay and MobilePay

In addition, the most common cards or online banks can be used for payment in the app. You can add your payment card details at the time of purchase.

Easily send parcels around Finland and abroad

As the app retains the last address you sent a parcel to, sending parcels to your favourite address couldn’t be easier. You can also easily change the language (FI, SV or EN) to your liking in the app settings.

Easily get the recipient’s details directly from your phone’s contacts

Once you have selected the destination country, the appropriate parcel size and any extra services, the app wants to know the recipient of your parcel. You have three options to choose from:

  1. Select from your phone’s contacts
  2. Enter recipient information
  3. Resend to the person

Change the recipient information of the parcels you send

In the Omat paketit menu on the app’s home page, you can find incoming and outgoing parcels. There you can edit the recipient’s details, even after the parcel is dispatched.

Buy more holding time for your parcel at the parcel point

Open parcel information in the mobile app to buy extra holding time for your parcel. Payment is easy with the payment method of your choice. Additional time cannot be purchased for consignments if the pick-up point is a parcel locker.

Order home delivery, even if your parcel is already ready to collect at a parcel point

Increase the size of your parcel even if you have already paid for your order

In the Omat paketit menu on the app’s home page, you can find incoming and outgoing parcels. From there, you can edit the size of the parcel. Payment is easy with the payment method of your choice.

Pick up your parcel without ID

A handy pick-up code eliminates the need to show ID. The fastest way to get your parcel is to show the barcode displayed in the app at the checkout. You can also give the pick-up code to a friend, who can pick up the parcel for you if necessary. You can find the pick-up code in the details of your inbound parcel.

Change the pick-up point for an inbound parcel

Sometimes plans change on the fly. If you know you will be heading to your holiday home or to visit family, you can change the pick-up point for your inbound parcel in the app. You can change the pick-up point when you receive the first notification of an inbound parcel – so don’t wait.

Send a parcel to yourself

If you want to make sure that a parcel you buy peer-to-peer arrives at your nearest pick-up point, you can pay for the delivery yourself and simply give the seller the activation code. The same trick works when you wish to go skiing but your cross-country skis won’t fit in the car.

A text message will be sent to the mobile phone number or email address provided by the sender. If you have Matkahuolto’s Parcels app, you will also receive the message via the app. If you have not received an arrival notification, there may be a typing error in your details. If so, always contact the sender who can correct the error. If the parcel has already been returned, it is advisable to agree on further action with the sender.

It is likely that the shipping details do not include your mobile phone number and/or email address, which would help us determine that the parcel belongs to you. Make sure that you have entered both your mobile phone number and your email address in the mobile app. If you have provided both pieces of information and the parcel still does not appear, you may want to contact the sender of the parcel, who can add the missing information to the shipment!

As a recipient, you can change the parcel point either before or after delivery. It is not possible to change the parcel point in transit.

When the parcel details appear in the Matkahuolto Paketit app, but before the parcel has been accepted for delivery by Matkahuolto, you can change the parcel point once free of charge. Please note that the final parcel point may still be different from your selection if the chosen parcel point is full. 

Once you receive the arrival notification, the app offers you a transfer option for a fee. A transfer will generate a new consignment ID, which we will use to transport the parcel to the point of your choice. A transfer to another point can be purchased for parcels processed by manned parcel points, and in the metropolitan area, for parcels in a parcel locker, in which case we will transfer the parcel in cooperation with Wolt.

You can purchase additional storage time or home delivery for your parcel in the Matkahuolto Paketit app when you open the shipment details. Payment is easy with your chosen payment method, such as MobilePay. You can also give the pick-up code to another person. No power of attorney or authorization is required.

If the parcel is in a parcel locker, it is not possible to increase the storage time.

Matkahuolto has two different models of parcel lockers. If you have received a pick-up code, enter the code on the locker screen and the locker will open the door to the correct box for you.

If your parcel has gone to an app-enabled locker, you will need the Matkahuolto Paketit app, which you can download from your app store! When picking up a parcel from an app-enabled locker, open the Omat Paketit (My Parcels) menu and activate your phone’s Bluetooth connection. Allow the app to use Bluetooth and your precise location data. You can check this in your phone settings. Go close to the lockers and make sure that no other customer is using the locker at the same time. Find out more about app-enabled outdoor parcel lockers.

Please check that you have downloaded the Matkahuolto Paketit app. Turn on Bluetooth and allow the app to use Bluetooth and allow precise sharing of location data. Go near the locker and make sure there are no other customers around.
