Strike from 1 to 2 February 2024 will not affect parcel deliveries – bus and coach services may be subject to several changes on 2 February 2024

2.2.2024

Several trade unions have announced a political strike starting on Thursday, 1 February 2024 at 00.00 and ending on Friday, 2 February 2024 at 23.59. However, the strike has been announced to affect bus and coach services only on Friday, 2 February 2024.

Parcels are transported normally

Parcels can be sent normally and the strike is currently not expected to have a significant impact on the delivery of parcels.

  • Pick-ups and deliveries to service points and customers will also be handled normally.

  • Matkahuolto’s own stations and terminals will continue to operate normally during the strike.

  • However, the opening hours and services of our partners’ outlets, such as shops, may be different from normal.

Changes to bus and coach services on 2 February 2024 - Check timetable information on Matkahuolto’s website

  • Passenger services may be affected by the strike because some of the bus and coach departures will be cancelled on 2 February 2024.

The timetable search and online ticketing on Matkahuolto’s website will provide up-to-date information even during the strike. The departures that will be operated in spite of the strike will be indicated. However, you should check the departure time on the website and in the app as close to the time of departure as possible, because changes may be made by operators at short notice.

The timetable information of the Waltti and HSL services displayed in the Trips and Tickets app and the Journey Planner is obtained directly from the operators who are responsible for deleting any cancelled departures from the systems.

Refunds for tickets not used because of the strike

We will automatically refund tickets purchased on Matkahuolto’s website and in the Trips and Tickets app for departures cancelled due to the strike.

For season and series tickets purchased from Matkahuolto’s Trips and Tickets app, you can apply for a refund on a case-by-case basis using the form available on our website.

The refunds will be paid as soon as possible, within a month at the latest.
