Express Parcel – The fastest parcel

Our new Express Parcel is taken by bus from one place to another within the same day. The service is available 24 hours a day, anywhere in Finland. You just take the Express Parcel directly to the bus, and the recipient picks it up directly from the bus. That’s it. 

Express Parcel in a nutshell: 

  • Available sizes: XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, S Maxi, M Maxi, L Maxi, XL Maxi, XL Wide, Framed Painting. The maximum weight is 20 kg.

  • Express Parcels can be sent on specific direct bus services.  To find out the delivery time, check the Paketit app or the website at the time of purchase. Parcels can also be sent during the evening and on weekends.

  • Initially, the network will be somewhat limited but the number of bus services will increase significantly during the autumn.

How to send an Express Parcel: 

  • You can buy Express Parcels on Matkahuolto’s website or in the Paketit app. You’ll receive an order confirmation by email.

  • Write the activation code indicated on your order confirmation, together with the name and phone number of the recipient clearly on the parcel.  

  • Act as if you were getting on the bus yourself: be at the bus stop on time and stop the bus with a wave of your hand. Please note that we will not refund the price of the Express Parcel if you miss your bus. 

  • Give the Express Parcel to the driver and show the activation code. You can find the activation code in the Paketit app and in your order confirmation email. 

How to receive an Express Parcel: 

  • You will be notified in the Paketit app of the arrival time of the Express Parcel once it has been put on board the bus. If you don’t have the Paketit app, you will be notified by text message. 

  • You can follow the progress of your Express Parcel either from the Paketit app or via the map link you receive by text message. 

  • Be on time at the bus stop to pick up your Express Parcel and stop the bus with a wave of your hand. 

  • The driver will hand over the Express Parcel in exchange for a pick-up code. You can find the pick-up code in the Paketit app or in a text message. 

  • It is important that you are on time. If the Express Parcel cannot be delivered, we will take it to the nearest available service point within 2-3 business days.  

  • Uncollected Express Parcels are kept at the service point for 7 days.

You will see the stop or platform details when you buy an Express Parcel.

At a station, the bus can be found at the platform indicated when you bought your Express Parcel. At a bus stop, the best way to identify the bus is by its destination plate.

It’s possible. Remember to wave your hand to stop the bus at the stop!

You will be notified of your Express Parcel in the Paketit app or by text message. The notification will tell you which station or stop the Experss Parcel will arrive at and when it is due to arrive. You can follow the journey of your Express Parcel in real time on the map in the Paketit app.   

To pick up you Express Parcel, you will need a pick-up code in the same way as when you pick it up from a service point. If you were not notified of an incoming Express Parcel by text message or in the Paketit app, contact the sender and ask them to contact Matkahuolto’s customer service to verify your contact details so that the notification can be resent.

This should be done well before the bus is due to arrive at the stop.

The Express Parcel will be taken to the nearest service point to your address within 2–3 business days.

The parcel must have either an address card or a handwritten activation code, the recipient’s name and phone number.

Dangerous goods cannot be sent in an Express Parcel. As an exception, contract customers can send LQ consignments. In this case, the parcel must be marked LQ.

The maximum dimensions of an Express Parcel are 60 cm x 60 cm x 100 cm and maximum weight 20 kg.
