Matkahuolto’s parcel points are widely available despite the retail sector strike

17.2.2025

The retail sector strike will close some stores between Wednesday, February 19, at 05:00 and Saturday, February 22, at 05:00. The strike affects K-stores, S-group stores, Lidl, Halpa-Halli, and Tokmanni. However, according to notifications from our service point partners, the majority of stores operating as Matkahuolto's parcel points will remain open despite the strike.

For parcels en route to stores that are closed due to the strike, we will redirect them directly to alternative pickup points. Thanks to our extensive network of over 2,500 parcel points and lockers, a suitable alternative pickup location can be found near the customer.

If a store closes unexpectedly and parcels remain uncollected, we will automatically extend the storage period to ensure the recipient can pick up their parcel once the strike has ended.

The strike will generally not affect delivery times. However, minor delays of approximately one day may occur in situations where routing needs to be changed quickly or if a store closure is not reported in advance, causing the parcel to be returned to a terminal for rerouting.
