Claim for damages
The terms of Matkahuolto’s Parcel Services and claims for damages are included in Matkahuolto’s General Conditions of Carriage.
Damages that can be determined by an external visual inspection must be reported to the carrier’s representative immediately. In all other cases, the claim must be filed with the carrier in writing within seven (7) days of receipt of the consignment. Sundays or other public holidays are not included in the said seven-day period (Road Transport Agreements Act, section 40a) Use this form to file a written damage report.
Compensation is subject to Matkahuolto’s verification of the damage and inspection of the damaged goods and the protective packaging material. Note that the packaging material may not be disposed of before inspection.
Verification and inspection of the damage can be arranged at your nearest Matkahuolto service point or agreed upon with Matkahuolto’s Customer Service. Calls to Matkahuolto’s Customer Service at 0800 132 582 are toll-free.
The claim for damages must be accompanied by a copy of the sales invoice or receipt for the goods in question, and, if necessary, additional clarifications. Send the accompanying documents to email@example.com. If the consignment was insured elsewhere, file the claim with the insurance company involved using the insurance companies' claims form.
